Alan Gordon
Alan Gordon earned an accelerated Honors LL.B. law degree from the University of Buckingham in England in 2012, graduating at the top of his class in Criminology and Criminal Justice. He passed all twelve England and Wales Bar examinations on his first attempt, earning First Class marks in Legal Ethics. He also holds a self-designed Bachelor of Arts degree from The Pennsylvania State University (1992), with a concentration focused on the legal and public policy issues surrounding cannabis reform.
For more than a decade, Alan has devoted himself to public law and constitutional advocacy. Alongside Campaign Manager Rev. Dr. Anne Armstrong, he defended himself and Armstrong, representing themselves in court, against what they describe as twelve years of politically motivated prosecutions and retaliatory criminal charges. Between 2015 and 2026, every criminal case brought against them was ultimately resolved in their favor.
Alan has never taken the oath required for admission to the Rhode Island Bar. Instead, he has served as a private ecclesiastical legal advisor for several historic Christian organizations, including the late Bishop of the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church in Atlanta and Jamaica-in-Exile (2014–2022), the Secretary of Bermuda’s Lodge Civil & Military No. 726 (2014), and the Matriarch of the Hebrew Catholic Church (2014–present).
A lifelong advocate against crime and corruption, Alan has focused on combating the exploitation of minors, public corruption, and environmental crimes such as illegal dumping. His experiences have also given him firsthand insight into the criminal justice system, including incarceration in Georgia and periods of detention in Pennsylvania and Rhode Island for cannabis-related offenses that today would often be legal or decriminalized. Those experiences strengthened his commitment to equal justice, constitutional rights, and ensuring that the law is applied fairly to every Rhode Islander.
